Trail Tech Handle Bar, Computer, & Billet Holder Install Guide
Degree of Difficulty: 2
Tools & Parts Needed
1) Ratchet, extensions, & sockets
2) Wrenches
3) Drill
4) Blue Loc-tite
5) (2) Lock Washers 12mm
Step 1  Remove right front wheel,
brake caliper, & hub/brake rotor
assembly. This does require removing
the front axle nut.
Step 2  Replace one of the stock bolts,
that hold the rotor to the hub, with the
magnetic bolt supplied with the install
kit. The original bolt is on with Loc-tite
so you may need to heat it a little to
loosen it. Set a side for now.
Step 3  In this step you must drill a
hole in your spindle. Be careful
because you are using a very small
drill bit and it can break off in the metal
and cause problems. You will need to
hold the sensor up to the spindle and
mark where the hole needs to be
drilled.  Install sensor with self tapping
screw supplied. Reinstall hub/brake
rotor and brake caliper.
Step 4 At this point you must route the
sensor cable. Wrap it back around the
top of the brake caliper and then run it
along side the hydraulic brake line. It
needs to follow the brake line all the
way up by the handlebars. Tie strap it
to something up top so it does not fall
back into the body while you are
getting the rest ready.
Step 5  Remove all of the handlebar
accessories and handlebars. Including
the plastic housing for the key switch
and temp light.
Step 6  Remove the stock aluminum
handlebar holders. At this point you
should be looking at just the top of the
steering stem with 2 holes.  Keep track
of the bolts because you will need
them in a minute or two.
Step 7  Place the plastic key
switch/temp light holder into place. And
install the switch and light into the
holder.
Step 8  Slide the handlebar clamp into
the plastic switch/light holder. Using
the bolts and flat washers you took out
and also add a lock washer and some
blue loc-tite, install the clamp. Make
sure these bolts are tight and don't
forget the Loc-tite and lock washers.
They will loosen up if you don't. Trust
me, it happened to me and almost
ruined my day.
Step 9  Loosen the 4 Allen head bolts,
and install the handlebars. After
adjusting the bars to your riding
comfort, tighten the 4 Allen head bolts.
The end of the sensor cable has a
square black plastic piece with metal
contacts on it. Use the screws provided
to attach this to the billet housing. The
computer itself simply slides into place
and will lock into place with a plastic tab.
Step 10  Now all you have to do is
re-install all of your handlebar
accessories and your almost done.
Step 10  You have to set up the
computer. The instructions will tell you
how to set everything up. The most
important part is putting in the correct
front tire size. The most accurate way to
do this is to follow these instruction. Put
the quad on your driveway.  With a tire
crayon(or similar), put a mark on the
bottom of the tire and a mark on the
ground adjacent to the tire mark. Then roll
the quad forward until the mark on the tire
has gone all the way around once. And is
back in the original position. Then make
another mark on the ground. Take a tape
measure and measure between the 2
marks on the ground. In most cases the
measurement will be between  20" and
24" depending on the size of the tire.
